Triveni Vahini Update July 6, 2010

Dear Triveni Family and Friends,

Picnic/Walkathon-2010

As previously announced, Triveni will host the annual Picnic/Walkathon on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Nockamixon State Park, 1542 Mountain View Drive (Rt. 563), Quakertown, PA 18951-5732. We will assemble in the picnic area of the Marina section of the park starting at 10:30 AM. (As you enter the park, follow the signs for Marina and find parking lots closest to Marina section.)

In addition to Walkathon, several fun activities are planned for the day which include musical bottles, croquette, charade, treasure hunt, lemon and spoon race, cricket, carom board, and more. A minimum donation of $5 per person toward walkathon will be collected at the venue. A more generous contribution for this worthy cause is encouraged.

We are working on catering Dosa on Site’ for lunch which we hope will be welcomed by our membership and will attract increased attendance at the picnic. This would cost $13 per person for catering. Triveni would subsidize $3 and will charge $10 per person. We need to have a head count of the number of people attending the picnic in order to successfully execute this option. So, we request you to send in your RSVP from our web site www.triveniusa.org by July 16, 2010. In the comments section of your RSVP, please indicate whether you support ‘Dosa on Site’ option or not. If we are not able to have ‘Dosa on Site’, we will serve ‘puliyogare’ and ‘mosaranna’ for lunch and there will be no charge for this option. The specific lunch option will be announced in our next Vahini update after July 16, 2010.

You are welcome to bring any snack/fruit/beverage on a voluntary basis for sharing with the picnic participants.
